On this blog I am chronicling my adventures on a reporting road trip alongside my compatriot Johannes Arlt, photographer extraordinaire. We are traveling to New Braunfels, Texas, to document Wurstfest (yes, Wurstfest) before investigating public education reform in New Orleans. Next on our itinerary: West Virginia, where the nation’s largest utility is experimenting with a technology called carbon capture and sequestration, which could make coal power clean. Or cleaner, anyway. Finally, we will make our way to Washington, DC in hopes of getting an interview with President Barack Obama on the issues of global warming, education policy, and Wurstfest (yes, Wurstfest). Unfortunately, the White House has yet to return any of my phone calls.
